Justice Delayed Memphis Cold Case Series Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Patricia Bradley Joell A Jacob Tantor Audio Books
A friend of mine has read and enjoyed Patricia’s novels for a long time now not until I read her newest story did I fully understand the reason. In Justice Delayed, we meet a spunky woman named Andi whose sister was murdered many years ago. Even with the age difference Andi was close to her sister and became a journalist due to the last words she heard her sister speak to her.In the past, four women stewardesses lived together and may have become involved in illegally smuggling rough diamonds into the States. While not technically a cold case, the man who is to be executed for murder in a matter of a few days receives a letter stating he didn’t do the deed. Now, his cousin, who is a detective in the cold case unit, must try to find out the real perpetrator or the evidence that proves the man’s guilt. The twist is they are related and Andi knows them as well, having grown up together in the same neighborhood.
Both Andi and her brother Brad and detective Will eventually come together to find out the truth about Stephanie even though their friendship is strained by the case. Will has issues with his birth mother and her coming once again into his life uninvited along with trying to keep Andi from further harm as she digs into stories that are dangerous. Add to that the growing feelings Will has towards her and vice versa and the story just keeps getting better and better.
I loved how well the author kept me guessing as to who committed what deed and how the various threads of different cases may come together to reveal a completed tapestry of truth. There are familiar issues, addiction, danger, action and adventure all while on the road to uncover the truth that has been buried for over a decade. I hope if you are not familiar with Patricia Bradley’s books that you too will grab a copy and enjoy the mystery and the tension as it builds throughout the story all the way to the conclusion!

Justice Delayed Memphis Cold Case Series Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Patricia Bradley Joell A Jacob Tantor Audio Books Reviews
Loved this book! It is action packed and a real page turner. I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could. I only took off 1 star because I felt it left a few loose ends. It needed to wrap things up a bit better. But overall a great read.
i like the premise of the book. the approach in the plot in finding the reail killer was different but i felt the characters were not developed enough and the plot was disjointed. but i could see how someone could enjoy the book.
Very enthralling story. I never could decide where this story was going. The characters were well designed and, of course, I liked it when Will and Andi got their act together.
It is a good story, but took quite a few chapters to grab my interest. I would bypass reading it to do other activities. The ones I re-read multiple times are the ones I can't put down until my eyes blur and I have a headache. Maybe it will be your kind of story that holds your interest sooner than it did me.
This crime story was full of suspense, but the concluding events seems to evolve too quickly in a tumbling torrent rather than a smooth wrap up. The main characters were easy to follow and like, although Andi was too independent to be a favorite. My problem was with all the additional characters who were hard to keep track of, especially those with simi!at names and initials. The story had a typical love interest, but a loose end went nowhere in terms of Mr. Hollister's heart issues. Pointless there. This was okay but not my favorite crime drama.
This was an amazingly suspenseful book I enjoyed it and was hooked from the first page. I originally started this book listening on audible as I was traveling today. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job. In fact, I didn't ever want to stop the car because I wanted to know what happened next. One reason is because I'm from Memphis and the author did a terrific job with her descriptions of this city and the landmarks. I loved the book and I highly recommend it for all romantic suspense lovers. In fact, I am ready for the second book.
" . . . . . I need your forgiveness for not telling you sooner that I have proof you didn't kill Stephanie."
Words that could save a man from being unjustly executed for a crime that he did not commit, tucked inside a mysterious letter that vanishes as quickly as it appears. A message that could open, what everyone thought was an open and shut case eighteen years earlier, not to mention the traumatic effect it would impose on the victim's family and friends.
Andi Hollister and her brother Brad are outraged when their friend Detective Will Kincaide of the Memphis Cold Case Unit dares to insinuate that his cousin Jimmy might be innocent of their sister's murder. The man confessed at the scene, even though he later indicated it was under duress. As others who were associated with their deceased sibling, the night she was killed, rise to the surface, the evidence begins to mount up; some things about the case need to be reexamined so that justice is not delayed.
This story is filled multiple characters and intersecting story threads, which is to be expected in the first novel of a new series. Perhaps that could be distracting, or perhaps the reader will enjoy following a menagerie of trails, just as long as they all lead to the truth. Who killed Stephanie Hollister and why?
